WHAT IS COVID-19?

COVID-19 or Coronavirus 2019 is a highly contagious infectious disease that first emerged in Wuhan, China in late 2019. The disease was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 01/30/2020, and a pandemic on 03/11/2020. Cases of the disease have been transmitted on every continent besides Antarctica.

Testing for COVID-19 is available across Osceola & Polk Counties. Tests are limited & will only be administered to those exhibiting severe symptoms such as a dry cough, high fever, & shortness of breath. Please be advised that those requiring coronavirus testing will receive an initial screening & must wait in a common area with other patients also seeking testing. That is why it is highly important that only patients with severe symptoms be tested. You should also note if you have recently traveled or have been around a person with a confirmed case of Covid-19.

Polk County
